Dr. Yoehan Oh, a member of the Asian Americans and STEM initiative, recently published an op-ed titled “Preparing for a New Wave of Anti-Asian Discrimination in Academia” on The Opinion Pages!
It points out a new law under the consideration of U.S. Senate that migiht revive the “China Initiative,” why the revival would be dangerous for Asian American and Asian scientists in the U.S. as well as U.S. academia, and lays out a few actionable recommendations researchers and scholars can do for support. As many in the acadademia and higher education are seeing the troubling times in research and education, this piece shows our team’s continous efforts to identify the critical and pressing issues for Asian Americans in STEM and facilitate the interdisciplinary fora and and solutions.
