New Article: Making a Road For Science: Building Infrastructure and Doing Astronomy in Early Twentieth Century

Dr. Eun-Joo Ahn, a member of the Asian Americans and STEM initiative, recently published an article in Historical Studies in the Natural Sciences’ latest issue! Her article is titled “Making a Road For Science: Building Infrastructure and Doing Astronomy in Early Twentieth Century Available to Purchase.” 

Focusing on trail widening for the Mount Wilson Observatory, Ahn’s article argues that roads are part of the scientific infrastructure: They intertwine the scientific institution with land use, and their construction provides a lens to examine how the natural and socioeconomic environment shape science.
